The Priceless Planet Coalition by Mastercard unites the efforts of private and public institutions from around the world and in partnership with conservation bodies, to enable individuals to act and help mitigate climate change. HSBC and Air Miles are proud to be strategic partners of this coalition. Globally, the Priceless Planet Coalition has committed to the restoration of 100 million trees by 2025. 


As part of our commitment to transitioning to a global net-zero economy, HSBC and Air Miles are pleased to partner with Mastercard, Emirates Nature-WWF and Emirates Red Crescent to give you the opportunity to donate your Air Miles towards restoring the mangrove forests in the UAE.

 

Why is the restoration of mangroves an effective way to positively contribute to the environment?  


Mangroves can store up to four times more carbon than tropical forests¹. Restoring them is one of the most effective Nature-based Solutions to capture CO2 and mitigate climate change and its impacts. The UAE mangroves cover over 150 km2, the largest extension in the region, making it a vital component of our coastal ecosystem services.

 

How many Air Miles can I donate to make a difference?


All donations make a huge difference! You can donate from as little as 7,000 Air Miles. Helping restore mangrove forests by planting one tree and maintaining it for the next 5 years only takes 21,000 Air Miles or three vouchers.

  • Only run in the UAE in affiliation with Red Crescent WWF (License Number - 4779).
  • Approved under license no. 4779 by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department
  • Your Air Miles will be donated to Emirates Nature-WWF under the supervision of Emirates Red Crescent to contribute to the dedicated Priceless Planet Coalition project.  Administrative fees from Emirates Red Crescent apply. 
  • 21,000 Air Miles is an estimate cost of restoring or planting, maintaining, and monitoring of mangrove tree for minimum 5 years, cost may vary per location.
